Soccer Madness!!!!

What is funny? Kids are never interested in something until suddenly they CANT do it!!! The boys haven't played soccer for months and months... and then ELLA put her teeth through their soccer ball and that is all that they wanted to do. So we bought the boys a new soccer ball and now the new craze is playing soccer out the front late in the afternoon before dinner. Aidans' life falls apart if we dont do it... and Ella relishes the opportunity to run up and down the fence with the dogs next door, and Joshwa is a total STyLE guru!!

A trip to Litchfield???????????

Well in typical fashion the Voutes...We planned a day to Litchfield National Park to show DAD whilst he was here and we hadn't been there either.... .. but the navigation ONCE AGAIN is poor... we take the long route and after an hour or so more than we need to be in the car we declare the outing a disaster.. the road we are on is now beyond the 'limit of maps' in the street directory and the road signs declare Litchfield to be another 40 odd kilometres... and the road is getting dustier and rougher... and I dont want me car scratched.. (we are off road people SO LONG as the TERRITORY ISN'T SCRATCHED)... So our trip to Litchfield is Another DADDY did a BRIDGETOWN!!!!! outing...
So we turn around... head back the way we came and decide to go to Berry Springs for a picnic lunch and a swim... I have been told that Litchfield is very nice... but we are yet to see it.... Berry Springs is great.. the kids loved it, Poppy Chook loved it, Daddy had fun.. and mummy got to take lots of photos!!! Her favourite pasttime. Perhaps next visit we will get to Litchfield hey DAD!!

Fred's Pass Show

This weekend we went down the road to Fred's Pass and went to the rural show... For a little rural community show it was pretty good... Lots of stalls, particularly political ones... which we thought odd considering that there is no scheduled elections, Federal or Territorial for years, and they had a scrapbooking competition... which I wish I had known about.

The show also had a woodchopping arena with axe chopping and throwing men which was pretty impressive...especially when they were throwing these axes at bullseyes.... would definetly not want to get on the bad side of those men!!!

And the most important things for 2 little boys... the rides and jumping castles.....
I was however surprised that they didn't have any petting zoo however. Aidan was devestated.. so we had to search for a Polocross person happy to let him pat their horse.... finally he got to pat a horse and we could go home!!!!

Poppy Chook Visits

The boys are wrapped... they have Poppy Chook here for 3 weeks. I have almost three weeks of full time prac ahead of me and we decided to fly my dad up for those weeks... to save money on daycare, to have some inhouse entertainment (Poppy Chook) and to get Dad out and about.... So he has flown up here and the boys are so excited... they are all over him and wanting his attention... I am sure the few days that they go to daycare still Poppy Chook will sleep ALLLL day!!!!

Never far from the pool when they are home... the boys were so excited after Justin finally took Poppies few stitches out his back... with the Chicken scissors!!! (trully they are the most versatile ultensil on the planet!!) and Poppy could finally go swimming with them....

And Poppy got a work out!!!!!

Not sure who had more fun.
.. the kids or Poppy Chook... the biggest kid of all!!!!

Just Beautiful

I was lucky enough to have Joshie ham it up for the camera out by the pool swimming with Poppy Chook... and I just adore these great fresh photos of Joshie just out the pool..... I think he looks just beautiful....

ANZAC DAY..... 2008

This morning we went to our first ANZAC parade in Darwin... the boys were all excited... Justin 'daddy' was all dressed up in his uniform with his medals for the parade... the boys excitedly waived their Aussie flags... and loved the armoured cars, the horses, the air-dogs and the helicopters that were doing fly-bys throughout the parade...but missed daddy walking past! We were lucky to secure a shadyish spot on the side of the road... and we were glad as by the end of the parade... at 9.30ish it was getting hot..

After the parade we returned home to watch the Dawn Service in GAllipoli and Villers-Bretoneirs.... on TV... and have a sleep!!!

Joshie I am sure has an ear for music... the only parts of the Dawn Service he watched were the National Anthems of Turkey, NZ and Australia...which were all sang by Tenors... he was glued to the TV... he might have talent yet... NO pressure here Josh... but the next Aussie Hugh Jackman would make mummy & Nanny very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone had a great Anzac Day... since having the kids this is the first Anzac Day I have had in which I didn't SCRAP.... another tradition quashed by the move North Trace?

Cheers
