ANZAC DAY..... 2008

This morning we went to our first ANZAC parade in Darwin... the boys were all excited... Justin 'daddy' was all dressed up in his uniform with his medals for the parade... the boys excitedly waived their Aussie flags... and loved the armoured cars, the horses, the air-dogs and the helicopters that were doing fly-bys throughout the parade...but missed daddy walking past! We were lucky to secure a shadyish spot on the side of the road... and we were glad as by the end of the parade... at 9.30ish it was getting hot..

After the parade we returned home to watch the Dawn Service in GAllipoli and Villers-Bretoneirs.... on TV... and have a sleep!!!

Joshie I am sure has an ear for music... the only parts of the Dawn Service he watched were the National Anthems of Turkey, NZ and Australia...which were all sang by Tenors... he was glued to the TV... he might have talent yet... NO pressure here Josh... but the next Aussie Hugh Jackman would make mummy & Nanny very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone had a great Anzac Day... since having the kids this is the first Anzac Day I have had in which I didn't SCRAP.... another tradition quashed by the move North Trace?

Cheers

Aidan Urkil..... Coolman Josh & Scrapping = a great weekend???

This is my boy Aidan... he doesn't like long shorts... so eventhough he is 4 now he is still wearing the same shorts that he was wearing when he was 1..!!?! He also is obsessed with running fast so he constantly is wearing his socks and sneakers.. and because he loves these spiderman socks... he HAS to wear them pulled up.... He is our version of Steve URKIL!!!

This is my other boy Joshie... and he is just too Cool...

You just gotta love them....

Well this weekend.. I decided I was going to scrap.. so I keenly joined in on ScrapBoutiques Blind scrap... or March cybercrop... it was fun. I used our April Fairy Fun Packs... One for the Blind Scrap and the other for their 3rd Cybercrop challenge which was a sketch...

It was the first time in a month since returning to uni that I had scrapped and I had a great night. Justin had organised a Poker night so some guys from work were all here out the back gambling.. .and I was left to myself... I had a great time... got glitter everywhere and created two layouts with photos I had wanted to scrap for a year... So I had a great Saturday night.

This is the layout I did for the Blind Scrap... I used the Fairy Fun Pack Pixie Gem Pack

I took this photo of Aidan and Josh with their second cousins... in March last year when we went to Queensland to visit mum. I had wanted to scrap this for 12 months... I just adore the kids... behaving and posing just as we want them to ... all except Josh.... he cracked it... So these are the best pics we have... hahaha
And they are perfect!!!

Sketch layout will be here soon.

Cheers
Jodi

Gotta run.. have to finish my layout.. before hubby starts complaining that I am ignoring the family!!!!

Happy Easter & Joshie is swimming

Hi hope that everyone had a good Easter... I never got any photos with the Easter Eggs this year... it was so hot and humid here this weekend that any Egg hunts would have been melted chocolate by the time the boys found them. So instead the Easter Bunny left a note on the front door:

Aidan thought it was wonderful that the Easter Bunny wrote him a letter, raced to the fridge and got his and Joshie's eggs out... I didn't even have time to think the word 'camera' let alone get it... so no pics this year...

But I have taken photos of my little man Joshwa swimming with no floaties.... What a clever boy??

Joshie is growing up sooo much faster than Aidan.. he is now not only riding a bike but he is also swimming with no floaties. He still needs to master breathing but otherwise he is a little fish.. who kicks like he is riding a bike!!! it is so cute...watching him power through the water with his little plump bottom bouncing above the water.

Again happy Easter... and until next time stay safe and happy...

cheers
jodi

A busy fortnight & a RAK winner!!!

Well it has been a busy fortnight and this past week especially has gone really fast.
I have started/returned to Uni for 2008.... After much deliberation I decided to go to Charlie Darwin University and do my Graduate Diploma and become a Middle School Teacher... ahhh... not sure what I was thinking when I opted for Middle School and I will get a look at what I am in for in a few weeks when we start our prac. teaching... It was amazing after one year off from uni... I felt really at home back in the lectures and tutorials... so that is good. The work load is intense this year... as the course is a one year intensive study/learning curve... so I can see my scrapping suffering for it... But it is one year and I can dedicate all the summer holidays (in 9months time!!) to scrapbooking!!!! Until then though my life will be uni work and limited scrapbooking time...

With Uni starting the workload starting immediately... I forgot to announce the winner of my RAK giveaway last weekend... so I collected the names of all the people kind enough to visit and leave a comment and had my eager 4 year old pull the name out of his Spider Man Hat....

The winner is ......... Sine. ...
Congratulations...

I will send out an Enchanted Scrapbooking Fairy Fun Pack to you asap... (once I get your address of course!!)

Below are the layouts using the March Fairy Fun Packs.... Finally, I have managed to get them both done....
Using the "Innocent Escape" Pack...
I have scrapped a picture of my gorgeous boys sitting in front of the Tulip display at Araluen Botanical Garden in Perth last September... This day was a nice day... until we lost Aidan for over 20 minutes.... he accidently ran past Tracey and up a garden staircase into the bush... and this layout is all about realising how much I do Adore you boys... and finding out in the most Gut wrenching circumstances...

Using the Fairy Fun pack 'Fairy Innocence'

I did this layout of Bronte.... with the Cabbage Patch Doll that we bought her for Christmas... she loved it straight away...which was lucky as I too love Cabbage Patch Dolls and I would have been quite happy to take it back!!!! hahaha

Well Cherio.. again Congratulations Sine... and I hope everyone has a good week....

A great Storm

Just a quick update... wanted to put these photos up of the storm we had this evening...

This afternoon we had one of the most impressive storms hit us since we moved here.... there was lots of lightening and thunder but the most impressive aspect of this storm was the clouds... they were spectacular... and the deluge that followed was incredible... In 15 minutes our backyard was under 2inches of water and it was lapping at our doorstep....

Below are the Voute Storm Watchers......

A Lazy Weekend and Ella goes Wild....

Today was hotter than it had been for a few weeks ... Ella spent most of today (well all of it really) inside in the airconditioning laying on cold tiles... but when the storm hit this afternoon... and we recieved 45mm in just over an hour... she was relishing the flood that soon occurred in our backyard... 1st she cooled her tummy.... then had a mud bath and then finished it all off with a mad sprint around the backyard... She was loving it... And it was just Sooo fun to watch.. The kids were thrilled and loved it but had to be careful to not be bowled over....

Other than the little bit of excitment this afternoon we had a lazy weekend. Joshie and Justin arn't 100%... they are both suffering a summer cold... but Aidan and I are find and lucky me I even got to have a 3 hour sleep on Saturday afternoon... Yay....

I also was able to get a little bit of scrapping done...

Chooks Survivor 2008 - Challenge 3

This challenge required you to follow a sketch... and then incl.
5 or more brads
stamping
a frame
stitching
paint

Pennywise Challenges - March Challenge 1

For this challenge you had to use patterned paper and embellishments with circles on it. I used these old papers and the Heidi Swapp Tape..

This is the photo that I had up on my desk whilst working at Blackhawk Personnel. The girls from Blackhawk posted it up to me... and I decided to scrap it so that I could remember.

Enchanted Scrapbooking's March Fairy Fun Packs are now available ... this months packs were inspired by the Gerbera. Gerbera's are from the Daisy family and like the Daisy flowers represent innocence and purity (apparently) so this months packs, which feature Gerbera's, were designed with this in mind...

Check them out.......

Well until next time....

Cherio!!
